How to start an email marketing business?

Posted by admin on July 14th, 2010 and filed under email marketing | 2 Comments »

I am planning to do email marketing as a service to our existing clients. We service mortgage and real estate agents and we do mailings to consumers on behalf of LO and agents. What I would like to do is to hide our domain name and show consumer as the email came from their sales agent/Loan Officer. Anyone has any idea how to do this by setting up our own server. I am not planning to use 3rd party email marketing services. Consultant work is appreciated if you provide your contact information.

Set your server domain as your company name, then use subdomains for your clients eg:

    loansexpress.mycompany.com, mortgagematters.mycompany.com

You can set your ‘from’ line to whatever you wish to support this so it will appear to the reader:

    From: Loans Express (loansexpress.mycompany.com)

This is the most flexible way, otherwise you will need a server per client.

Need any more help, get in touch:

    jay@jaymail.net

    Cheers,
    Jay

what are the Email Etiquette and Rules For Internet marketing?

Posted by admin on July 12th, 2010 and filed under email marketing | 3 Comments »

Hi all,I want to do Internet marketing through emails ..but dont know how to do this?
What are the rules and Etiquette to write the mail for Email Marketing.

To make sure you are using proper email etiquette, as well as staying on the good side of the law, you should read up on the "Can Spam" Act at the FTC web site; they have a Compliance Guide for Business at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/business/ecommerce/bus61.shtm which you should read thoroughly. Also check your ISP’s terms of service to make sure you are in compliance with their rules for email usage.

The CAN-SPAM Act: A Compliance Guide for Business

Do you use email in your business? The CAN-SPAM Act, a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have you stop emailing them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

Despite its name, the CAN-SPAM Act doesn’t apply just to bulk email. It covers all commercial messages, which the law defines as “any electronic mail message the primary purpose of which is the commercial advertisement or promotion of a commercial product or service,” including email that promotes content on commercial websites. The law makes no exception for business-to-business email. That means all email – for example, a message to former customers announcing a new product line – must comply with the law.

Each separate email in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act is subject to penalties of up to $16,000, so non-compliance can be costly. But following the law isn’t complicated. Here’s a rundown of CAN-SPAM’s main requirements:

Don’t use false or misleading header information. Your “From,” “To,” “Reply-To,” and routing information – including the originating domain name and email address – must be accurate and identify the person or business who initiated the message.

Don’t use deceptive subject lines. The subject line must accurately reflect the content of the message.

Identify the message as an ad. The law gives you a lot of leeway in how to do this, but you must disclose clearly and conspicuously that your message is an advertisement.

Tell recipients where you’re located. Your message must include your valid physical postal address.

This can be your current street address, a post office box you’ve registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox you’ve registered with a commercial mail receiving agency established under Postal Service regulations.

Tell recipients how to opt out of receiving future email from you. Your message must include a clear and conspicuous explanation of how the recipient can opt out of getting email from you in the future.

Craft the notice in a way that’s easy for an ordinary person to recognize, read, and understand. Creative use of type size, color, and location can improve clarity. Give a return email address or another easy Internet-based way to allow people to communicate their choice to you. You may create a menu to allow a recipient to opt out of certain types of messages, but you must include the option to stop all commercial messages from you. Make sure your spam filter doesn’t block these opt-out requests.

Honor opt-out requests promptly. Any opt-out mechanism you offer must be able to process opt-out requests for at least 30 days after you send your message. You must honor a recipient’s opt-out request within 10 business days. You can’t charge a fee, require the recipient to give you any personally identifying information beyond an email address, or make the recipient take any step other than sending a reply email or visiting a single page on an Internet website as a condition for honoring an opt-out request. Once people have told you they don’t want to receive more messages from you, you can’t sell or transfer their email addresses, even in the form of a mailing list. The only exception is that you may transfer the addresses to a company you’ve hired to help you comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.

Monitor what others are doing on your behalf. The law makes clear that even if you hire another company to handle your email marketing, you can’t contract away your legal responsibility to comply with the law. Both the company whose product is promoted in the message and the company that actually sends the message may be held legally responsible.

what is the best way to send mass marketing email without getting blocked and spammed?

Posted by admin on June 1st, 2010 and filed under email marketing | 4 Comments »

I want to send about 200,000 email to my listing. I do not know what is the best way and cheapest way to doing it. I’ve already find some sites, but this is my first time, and this is going to be a real marketing. I want to make sure that not me and not my internet provider get blocked. please help .Thanks

You need to find an email marketing service that is willing to do that for you. If they send it out, then they get blocked, not you. But the big question is: how did you acquire the list?
If you purchased the list, then you can totally forget about it.
Remember, that if people start hitting the spam button on your message, then the contents in the email also get blacklisted including your domain name. and once that happens, you will find yourself in a big trouble.

What are the best email marketing websites to build email list?

Posted by admin on May 20th, 2010 and filed under email marketing | 2 Comments »

Looking to build an opt in email list for my business and I’ve been looking at different sites offering to build an email list. Which is the best between Aweber,GetResponse or Mailchimp or any other email marketing company? Looking to expand my business and I need advice on which company to go with!

You can build email lists for free, if you like contact me and ill coach you on how to do this properly but roughly what you should be doing is going on sites like facebook and seeing the problems people are having and offer them a free way out of that problem by providing a program in exchange for their email address

One that ive used is an auto friend and gift acceptor script that saves people a lot of time

Another is the zynga poker bot, this plays poker for people and wins them chips while they sleep and is very popular

Use a youtube video with a link in the description to your opt in list

Once someone has signed up send them the program or link to the program

You can rake in literally thousands of active emails this way legally

Don’t pay someone to do it for you its too easy to do

What are good traits in an email marketing person?

Thinking about hiring an email marketing person. What should I look for in a candidate?

Test their spelling abilities with a simple quiz. They should be good at spelling so they dont make you look bad and it will reflect you since you hired them.Im sure your time is valuable to you so they should be able to type at a reasoable rate.40-60 WPM is good. They should also know how to talk professionally, even if it is email.
